Male shot on Melvern Road

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — A male was shot today in the area of Melvern Road, according to police officials. He was transported to the hospital via private vehicle. His condition is currently unknown.

Preliminary reports indicate that around 8:30 pm on Wednesday July 10th, the victim arrived at a residence on Melvern Road in Yellow Elder Gardens. Upon exiting his vehicle, the occupants of a gray Japanese vehicle accosted him and opened fire, resulting in him sustaining an injury to his head.

The 36-year-old victim was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle; his injury is not life- threatening, and he remains in stable condition.

Police are urging anyone with information about the most recent shooting to call 911, 919, the Criminal Investigation Department at 502-9991, or to submit anonymous tips through CRIME STOPPERS at 328-TIPS (8477).
