An early morning shooting in the area of West Avenue and Gibbs Corner has left a male dead according to police. This is a developing story. Eyewitness News will provide more information on this latest incident as details become available.

According to preliminary reports, police received a notification shortly before 4 am on Thursday, July 11, 2024, reporting the discovery of an unresponsive male inside a vehicle off West Avenue near a primary school.
Responding officers, upon their arrival at the scene, confirmed finding an unresponsive male with gunshot injuries to his head sitting in the driver’s seat of a silver Nissan Note.
EMS personnel visited the scene and examined the victim, but were unable to detect any vital signs of life.
The deceased was wearing a white undershirt, black long trousers, and black gloves on both hands.
