NASSAU, BAHAMAS — The Bahamas Red Cross Society has announced the appointment of Lisa Turnquest as the new Chair of the Grand Bahama Centre.
“With her extensive humanitarian work and leadership background, Ms. Turnquest is poised to drive significant growth and positive change within the organization,” a press release noted.
In her new role, Ms. Turnquest will provide strategic oversight, lead governance initiatives, and guide the Centre’s programs and partnerships. She will also head the committee at the Grand Bahama Centre, ensuring that all activities align with the mission and strategic goals of The Bahamas Red Society.
Edison Sumner, President of The Bahamas Red Cross Society, expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “Having also served as the chairperson of the Bahamas Red Cross Grand Bahama Centre’s Ball Committee, Lisa’s proven leadership skills make her the ideal choice for this role. We are confident that her vision and commitment will lead the Grand Bahama Centre to new heights, benefiting both the organization and the community it serves.”
Ms. Turnquest will join the executive committee of the National Society, collaborating with fellow members to make informed decisions that support the Centre’s objectives. Her transparent communication and strategic insights are expected to play a crucial role in maintaining alignment with the overarching goals of The Bahamas Red Cross National Society.

The Bahamas Red Cross Society says it looks forward to the positive changes and growth Turnquest’s leadership will bring to the Grand Bahama Centre.
Ms. Turnquest takes over this role from Mr. Renaldi Forbes who previously served the National Society.
