Illegal firearm, drugs recovered by police

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Acting on information, police in the capital recovered two illegal firearms and a quantity of drugs in two separate incidents on Tuesday, March 19, 2019.

In the first incident, shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Flying Squad Officers conducted a search of an area located on Jackson Avenue and recovered a .45mm Pistol with 10 rounds of ammunition along with a quantity of marijuana.

No arrests were made.

In the second incident, shortly after 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Mobile Division Officers acting on intelligence, conducted a search of the exterior of a residence on Coconut Grove Avenue and discovered a .40 Glock 9mm pistol with twelve 12 rounds of ammunition.

An adult male was arrested and taken into custody.

Investigations are ongoing.
