NASSAU, BAHAMAS — 400-meter sprinter Lacarthea Cooper minced no words after not being named to the 20-member team that will represent the Bahamas in the 2024 Olympic Games despite recording a top-three qualifying time.
Cooper was one of the three fastest women in the 400 meters at nationals in June and was recommended by The Bahamas Association of Athletes Associations based on her performance.
She told Eyewitness News that she feels as though her hard work has been in vain.
Since this interview, the Head of the Bahamas Olympic Committee told Eyewitness News that Cooper will travel with the team, but did not confirm in what capacity.
