NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant has been honored as the 2024 Bahamas’ Leading Hotel for the 16th time by travel professionals and consumers at the World Travel Awards.

“We are thrilled to receive the Bahamas’ Leading Hotel award again at the 2024 World Travel Awards Caribbean & The Americas,” says Graycliff CEO Enrico Garzaroli. “This accolade is a testament to the passion and dedication of our exceptional team, many of whom have been with us for years, committed to delivering an unforgettable Bahamian experience for our guests.”

Each year, the World Travel Awards™ (WTA) recognizes excellence in the travel and tourism industry through a comprehensive program. Winners are chosen by qualified executives and consumer travel buyers.

According to a press release, Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant offers a casually elegant oasis where guests are welcomed with gracious service in a refined setting.

“Located in the heart of Nassau, its lush gardens provide a serene escape from daily life and feature the hotel’s signature pool, adorned with a mesmerizing mosaic design by artist Sergio Furnari. The hotel’s acclaimed culinary scene begins with Graycliff Restaurant, known for its gourmet dining experience that combines Bahamian specialties with European cuisine and selections from its multi-award-winning Wine Cellar.”

The Graycliff experience extends beyond the hotel and restaurant, offering personalized experiences in cigar-making, chocolate crafting, and wine at the Graycliff Cigar Company, Graycliff Chocolatier, Bahamas Barrels, and the Heritage Museum of the Bahamas.

Additionally, Graycliff Restaurant celebrates an unprecedented 36th consecutive year receiving Wine Spectator’s Grand Award, cementing its status as a global leader in exceptional wine experiences. This prestigious recognition will be featured in the August 31, 2024, issue of Wine Spectator.

“Since earning its first Wine Spectator award in 1986, Graycliff has continually redefined excellence,” a release continued. “In 1988, it became the first restaurant in the Bahamas and Caribbean to receive the coveted Grand Award, setting a high standard for wine programs worldwide.”

Graycliff’s visionary CEO, Enrico Garzaroli, and its talented sommelier team share a passion for exceptional standards and memorable wine experiences.

Garzaroli remarked, “Winning the Grand Award for a remarkable 36th year is a thrilling achievement. It validates our passionate commitment to curating an extraordinary wine selection and creating unforgettable dining experiences. Our sommeliers take great pleasure in guiding guests through our extensive collection to enhance their culinary journey.”

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards, launched in 1981, initially honored 13 restaurants with Grand Awards for their wine lists. Since 1988, Graycliff Restaurant has remained a distinguished member of this elite group, showcasing an evolving wine collection featuring top producers, mature vintages, and large-format bottles.

To determine winners, Wine Spectator conducts rigorous on-site inspections of each candidate’s wine program, cellar, service, ambiance, and cuisine. Graycliff’s consistent recognition among the world’s best, amidst over 30,000 annual applicants, is a testament to its enduring excellence.

Graycliff Restaurant, a beacon of culinary distinction in the Caribbean, offers a gourmet experience blending Bahamian specialties with European cuisine. At the core of its success is the renowned Wine Cellar, with over 275,000 bottles and 6,500 selections from 25 countries, meticulously curated by Garzaroli over decades. His pursuit of high-quality wines has made Graycliff’s cellar one of the largest private collections globally.
