NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Opposition Leader Michael Pintard challenged Prime Minister Philip Davis to list the things he has done for the Bahamian people.
Pintard was responding to comments made by Prime Minister Davis regarding campaign finance reform on Tuesday morning.
In a phone interview with Eyewitness News, Pintard suggested that the Davis administration has not been transparent with public spending and that he does not expect them to be transparent about campaign spending.
He also insisted that if the government is going to shift the focus to the social needs of the Bahamian people, he demanded that the Prime Minister outline what has been done.
Prime Minister Davis told reporters that campaign finance reform was not a priority for his administration at this time referencing the social needs of the Bahamian people, which he said takes precedence.
The Davis administration pledged to bring about campaign finance reform in their 2021 manifesto, “Blueprint for change.”
