NASSAU, BAHAMAS — In a statement released by the family of Dinari McAlmont, the 23-year-old who tragically lost his life while vacationing in The Bahamas, they are publicly appealing for information regarding the circumstances surrounding his death. “We are heartbroken and devastated by the loss of our son, and we are asking anyone with information to help us find out what truly happened to him,” said Michelle Bacchus-McAlmont, Dinari’s mother. “We deserve answers, and we need justice for Dinari.”
Dinari McAlmont, who was visiting with his parents, checked into the Atlantis Paradise Island resort on the evening of Friday, April 4, 2025. After dinner, Dinari went for a walk and was last seen around 8:30 p.m. When he did not return, the family grew concerned and made repeated attempts to reach him. The following morning, around 5:00 a.m., police contacted Mrs. Bacchus-McAlmont to inform her that Dinari had been found lifeless on a beach.
The family has expressed their distress over not being allowed to view their son’s body immediately. Despite multiple requests, they were only able to see Dinari’s remains on April 7, with visible bruising and beach sand on his face, raising concerns that he may have been assaulted. “What we saw left us with more questions than answers,” Mrs. Bacchus-McAlmont said. “We believe there is more to his death, and we need to know what happened in those hours after he left.”
The McAlmont family has requested an autopsy from the Princess Margaret Hospital but has yet to receive substantial updates from the authorities. “It’s been days, and we still don’t have any clear answers. We are being kept in the dark, and that is not right,” said Desmond McAlmont, Dinari’s father.
The family is urging anyone with information regarding Dinari’s whereabouts or any events involving him between 8:30 p.m. on April 4 and 5:00 a.m. on April 5 to come forward. “If you saw something, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please speak up,” they said. “We just want the truth and the justice our son deserves.”
