Davis disagrees with attorneys who say promised bail amendments violate constitutional rights

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Prime Minister Philip Davis slammed local attorneys Tuesday afternoon who contend that the government’s proposed amendments to the Bail Act infringe on the rights of alleged criminals.

The Prime Minister announced in parliament last week that his administration will move to amend the Bail Act to ensure that prolific offenders who commit serious crimes while out on bail will have their bail privileges revoked.
