NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Representatives from the largest professional and civic organizations in the country flocked to Crypto Isle on Tuesday night as the oceanfront facility launched its Association Membership.
Crypto Isle offers coworking and event venue spaces and aims to stimulate economic growth in the Caribbean through blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.
Association Membership gives the various professional associations, non-government organizations (NGOs) and other sector groups special access to event spaces, training rooms, meeting spaces, an executive boardroom, and more.
Guests included executives and members of the Association of Bahamas Marinas, Bahamas National Trust, Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation, Bahamas Association of Compliance Officers, Bahamas Institute of Financial Services, Bahamas Insurance Association, CFA Society of The Bahamas, Bahamas Society for Human Resource Management, Organization for Responsible Governance, Insurance Institute of The Bahamas, Rotary, Focused Woman (Bahamas) and others.
Chamber of Commerce Chair Khrystle Rutherford-Ferguson highlighted the importance of the community, collaboration and being under the same roof, particularly as a launchpad for the kind of cross-sectoral collaboration and relationship-building that moves civil society agendas forward.
She said: “Cross-sector collaboration is described as two or more organizations working together across sectors—industry, nonprofit, and government—to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
“The very presence of the different sectors represented by those in the room provided a firm foundation to pursue the vital dialogue needed to resolve issues facing the private sector and by extension our country.
Rutherford-Ferguson added: “It is a fact that companies, foundations, NGOs, and governments can partner to solve business and national development challenges. Small businesses and their larger counterparts must navigate increasingly complex challenges that we cannot solve alone.
“…We look forward to more spaces and interactions like this where we can have focused discussions on improving the economic environment of The Bahamas through industry dialogue and partnerships.”
Crypto Isle Cofounder Davinia Bain was excited about the opportunities for direct connections, whether that means creating linkages between respective members or connecting businesses looking to engage with charitable organizations as a part of their community service mandates.
“We can leverage our collective marketing, bargaining, and networking power for each of our individual needs,” Bain said.
She underscored the importance of innovation for business and social solutions, particularly with the advantage of a network of commercial, non-governmental, and social enterprises.
Bain said: “One of the best things in the world is that kind of synergy that can only result from creative brains firing at the same time in the same space. If we harness our different strengths and expertise and all pull in the same direction, we can create some serious economic impact and lock in major benefits for our members and our communities.”
Bain indicated that the membership comes with various discounts and benefits for the organizations and their members and she encouraged them to reach out to admin@cryptoisle.com for more information.
