NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In the wake of what appears to be an uptick in armed robberies in the capital, a total of seven reported cases over the weekend, the police commissioner told media Monday morning that authorities have zeroed in on armed robbery hotspots and have devised a plan to combat the growing trend.
Police have reported a series of armed robberies in New Providence; some instances involved residents being robbed after visiting ATM’s, others were held at gunpoint outside of business establishments, there have been instances where motorists have been robbed of their vehicles upon arriving home or cornered while driving and robbed.
