NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Coral Sands Hotel, a boutique resort on Harbour Island, Bahamas, is set to undergo a major transformation under new ownership.
The resort is beginning a multi-phased restoration, with initial efforts focused on revitalizing guest rooms and public spaces. The renovation will feature a hyper-local design that blends comfort and sophistication while preserving the timeless charm that has made Coral Sands a classic Caribbean destination since 1968.
AJ Capital Partners (“AJ”), a real estate and hospitality company, assumed ownership of Coral Sands earlier this year. Chorten Wangyel, a seasoned expert in Harbour Island’s hospitality industry, will lead the renovation as the resort’s General Manager, with plans to reopen the property in December 2024.
“Coral Sands has been a vital part of Harbour Island’s rich history for over half a century. We are committed to preserving its unique character and charm, ensuring it continues to be a special and meaningful part of the island’s heritage for generations to come,” said Ben Weprin, CEO of AJ Capital Partners.
