Convicted murderer escapes lawful custody

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police are searching for 31-year-old Anthony Bethel, who escaped lawful custody while at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday September 9, 2024. Recently, Bethel received a Murder conviction and is currently awaiting his sentence.

According to initial reports, Bethel escaped custody around 3:30 p.m. while awaiting medical attention. He was last seen dressed in a blue jeans trousers and a shirt with a yellow and black stripe. He is known to frequent East and Lewis Streets, as well as Montel Heights and Masons Addition, and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

It is strongly advised not to approach him, police said.
