NASSAU, BAHAMAS— The Commonwealth Brewery Limited’s (CBL) Barefoot Wines team returned to Jaws Beach to celebrate Earth Day this past Saturday.
For more than ten years, the brand has hosted a coastal clean-up as part of its annual beach rescue initiatives, which are focused on creating awareness about the importance of preserving coastal areas throughout The Bahamas.
More than 100 volunteers from corporate partners, Rotary of Old Fort and Nassau Sunset, CG Atlantic, The United States Embassy, Bahamas Waste and Commonwealth Brewery Limited (CBL) gathered to remove litter and other forms of harmful debris from the beach and surrounding waters.
Densil Deveaux, Senior Portfolio Manager for Wines at Commonwealth Brewery Limited (CBL) shared, “We have always been happy to have Jaws beach as a part of the areas we clean during our quarterly clean-ups. It’s a very popular beach amongst our tourists, so we’re happy to make a tangible impact on this location and add to the efforts that Rotary Old Fort has made since adopting this area.”
At the close of the successful beach restoration event, participants were treated to a hearty meal and a crisp glass of chilled Barefoot wine to celebrate their efforts.
“CBL is committed to brewing a better world and supporting local initiatives that support sustainable practices within our community, the company looks forward to hosting their next beach clean up event in Q3 of 2024,” a press release from CBL indicated.
