The Bahamas men’s national soccer team suffered its second loss of the CONCACAF League of Nations tournament over the weekend at the hands of Antigua and Barbuda.
The Bahamas fell behind early and never offered much resistance over the course of the 6-0 loss at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.
For the second consecutive game, The Bahamas failed to register a goal. Its next match of the tournament will be played in November against Anguilla. Both The Bahamas and Anguilla are ranked at No.206 on the International Football Federation (FIFA) ranking list.
With the team playing at a more frequent rate now, Bahamas coach Dion Godet said that the team is gaining valuable experience through the League of Nations tournament, despite some of the tough finishes.
“A win can be viewed in several different aspects,” Godet said in an interview with Eyewitness News Sports.
“We are demonstrating that we are able to stay on the field with good teams. We are showing that our brand of play is worthy of being on the pitch with them. This is a four-year program. So, although it will be tough in the present, this is a building block.
“We want to sure up the middle, do a better job of scoring, and several other things we look to improve over the course of the next few games and years.”
