NASSAU, BAHAMAS: AML Foods Limited is putting $15 million into a new Cost Right Nassau warehouse club that will be about 30 percent larger than its former store, expanding its capacity in the value retail market.
Construction is well underway at the former Old Trail Road site, the company said in a September 21 press release. The approximately 70,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in early 2027, with more space for an expanded shopping experience and the continued growth of the Cost Right brand.
“Seeing construction progress on the new Cost Right Nassau is an exciting milestone for our company and, importantly, for our customers,” said Gavin Watchorn, President & CEO. “Cost Right has long been an important part of how Bahamians shop for value, and we are investing in a new facility that is larger, more modern and designed to serve our customers well into the future.”
During construction, AML is offering more than 120 essential grocery and janitorial items, along with select frozen products, meat and seafood, through costrightnassau.com. Customers can arrange delivery or pickup from its temporary Peach Street location at the former Milo Butler Warehouse.
The company said customers can also shop the full assortment through costrightfreeport.com, with free delivery to the Peach Street warehouse and Family Island mailboats. Grocery items and household appliances remain available daily in-store and online at Solomon’s Yamacraw.
“Rebuilding Cost Right Nassau is about more than replacing what was lost,” Watchorn added. “It is an opportunity to create something better for our customers, our team and the communities we serve. We look forward to welcoming customers back to a new Cost Right Nassau in early 2027.”
AML, which is listed on the Bahamas International Securities Exchange, said it will provide further updates on the development and its plans for the new location as construction progresses.
