Letters to the Editor: Open Abaco schools for face-to-face learning

Dear Editor,

We, the parents, the teachers, the students, are writing today because we have inquiries as to why some schools on Abaco are still virtual and will be until the end of the year.

We understand that many schools have not opened yet the government has given the OK to get the schools inspected and get open. We will not be ignored any longer.

We were promised that some schools would be inspected on January 31, yet they have not been even looked at.

We are working closely with a group of Abaco concerned citizens here in Nassau, Bahamas. We intend to have a full demonstration march on February 5 to bring light to this disaster.

The government cannot hold the kids hostage anymore from their education. This is an international outcry. This needs to be addressed today.

With immense hope,

Laureen Singh
