67-year-old male pedestrian killed in late-night Grand Bahama traffic accident

NASSAU, BAHAMAS- A 67-year-old man was killed in a late-night traffic accident in Grand Bahama after he was reportedly struck by a flatbed tow truck while attempting to cross Coral Road, police said.

Police reported that shortly after 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, 17th May 2026, officers responded to an accident on Coral Road near Indiana Lane. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of a 1997 flatbed tow truck was travelling south along Coral Road when the male pedestrian reportedly entered the roadway, resulting in a collision.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services personnel.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
