NASSAU, BAHAMAS: An early-morning shooting in Grand Bahama has left a 49-year-old man hospitalized after he was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and burn injuries. Police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, which remains under investigation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday June 30th. According to preliminary reports, shortly after 5:00 a.m., the Police Control Room received a call from a concerned resident reporting that an unknown male had arrived at his residence seeking assistance and claiming that he had been shot.
Officers responded to the scene in the area of Grand Bahama Highway, where they found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to his left hand, left thigh, and the left side of his chest, as well as burn injuries to his body. The victim was dressed in green shorts and was barefoot and shirtless.
Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Rand Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as police continue their investigation to determine how the victim sustained his injuries and who may be responsible.
