NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Forty-one newly trained mental health nurses will be joining the country’s workforce as early as tomorrow, according to Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Michael Darville who described suicide as a “serious issue” in country.
Dr. Darville’s comments came on the heels of an 8-year-old boy allegedly taking his own life Thursday morning. The young boy was reportedly found by his sibling.
Dr. Darville emphasized that the Davis administration is taking mental health seriously in country with the new enactment of the Mental Health Act 2023.
