NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Police officials have revealed that the crashed plane discovered approximately five miles away from the Marsh Harbour Airport is the same one that was reported missing days ago.
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Authority (AAIA) of the Bahamas was notified this afternoon of the location of an aircraft wreckage near the Leonard Thompson Int’l Airport. The wreckage has now been identified as N351BL, the aircraft that was reported missing on Sunday, 4 August 2024.
The deceased pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane at the time of its final flight, is believed to be 59-year-old Chris Moore of Louisville. A team of accident investigators is scheduled to dispatch from Nassau to the crash site on Friday, 9, August 2024.
In a Facebook post, a woman believed to be Moore’s wife confirmed her husband’s demise and expressed gratitude that the wreckage was eventually discovered by the rescuing team.
