A group of women are shattering the stereotypes that females don’t work well together by pooling their resources to help each other’s business grow.
Women in business is a Facebook group, which was founded by Bahamian entrepreneur Satina McKinney. She told Eyewitness News why she decided to create the platform, which specifically highlights women in business and provides opportunities for wealth expansion.
“I think it’s important to provide role models in our local community,” McKinney explained.
“We wanted to provide a medium where their businesses could be highlighted.”
McKinney stated that while working for the Chamber of Commerce, her eyes were opened to the plight Bahamian business women constantly face, which prompted her to start the investment group.
Recently, she partnered with the Ministry of Education to promote the ministry’s ‘I Believe’ campaign.
“We are excited to partner with the Ministry of education, which will be launching a series of billboards in the upcoming weeks to promote the scholarships they have for students,” she confirmed.
