Women charged with murder

Four women and two juvenile girls, one of whom is pregnant, were charged in the Supreme Court today with the stabbing death of Breanna Mackey earlier this year.

Thea William, 20,  Zaria Burrows, 19, who is pregnant and Davanya Lawes, also 19, were arraigned along with Dervinique Edwards, 20, before Supreme Court Justice Cheryl Grant Bethel.

A 16-year-old girl of Wilson Tract and another 17-year-old girl of East Street were also accused of the murder.

They all pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Mackey, a mother of one, was stabbed to death in Englerston in late January.

Police said she was approached by several females while walking on Key West Street and stabbed multiple times about the body.

The women were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Corrections (BDOCs) until May 23. They were initially charged with Breanna’s murder back in February in Magistrates court.
