With less than 48 hours to go before the start of the new school semester, it is unclear if schools currently under construction will, in fact, be ready to accept students, particularly as a number of schools visited by Eyewitness News appear to be unfinished.
Minister of Education Jeffery Lloyd who led a tour of Eva Hilton Primary school told the media that he is still optimistic that schools will be ready to open in time.
While there has been significant progress at the compound, contractors appear to be facing a mammoth task if they are to have the school completed in time for school on Monday.
