Veteran Wall Streeter joins ArawakX

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Dick Kazarian has recently joined the advisory board of ArawakX as the chief economic officer.

Kazarian received a PhD from the University of Chicago in 1993, specializing in finance and econometrics. He has 25-plus years of senior level experience as a quantitative specialist at Lehman Brothers, JP Morgan, as well as several smaller specialty finance firms.

Kazarian’s primary focus on the advisory board will be new product development.

ArawakX Chief Technology Officer D’Arcy Rahming Jr said: “Dick brings a wealth of experience in the financial markets as well as an extensive network of Wall Street, academic, regulatory and think tank contacts.

“We are pleased that he has agreed to [formally] join our advisory board and will be a key team player.”

Kazarian said: “The Bahamas is perfectly poised to become a leading nearshore center operating between the USA and the Caribbean and Latin America. I am excited to help develop the markets, products and financial services through ArawakX.”

ArawakX currently offers crowdfunding to startups and high-growth companies seeking to raise between $500,000 and $5 million.

Rahming said: “We are competing with the rest of the world for raising capital. Our unique edge is the talent in our people, our technology, our license, our investment network ecosystem and our ability to innovate.”

ArawakX has already launched three companies and had one successful raise of about $2 million. There are currently over 200 companies awaiting funding. Additionally, over 6,000 people have registered on the platform, with about 2,000 of them having pledged for stocks.

ArawakX is a privately held company that intends to one day become completely public by floating its shares.

“With a major talent like Dick Kazarian, we think we are well on way to becoming a major international player” said Rahming.
