VALLEY DIVIDED: “Go find another name, we will compete on Bay’

NASSAU, BAHAMAS -Chairman of the World Famous Valley Boys Brian Adderley has strongly advised the ‘break-away group,’ of former Valley Boys members to “find another name,” Adderley said he wants to put to rest the recent controversy which has stemmed from the apparent split.

Adderley, during a press conference held Tuesday morning, spoke to the extent of the apparent division in the Junkanoo organization, which was evident during the recent Labor Day Junkanoo parade in June.

Two Junkanoo groups – both identifying themselves as the Valley Boys – marched in the cultural celebration.

Adderly dubbed the recent controversy as “confusion” which he said warranted an apology to the group’s fans, supporters and sponsors.

Trevor Davis, interim chairman of the break-away group took exception to the World Famous Valley Boys’ leadership, he noted that the organization lacked fiscal accountability, avoided elections and failed to copy-write its symbols.

Adderley refuted those claims today and noted that the group’s executive team has been suffering “character assassinations.”

Adderley further asserted that the group is fully compliant with rules set out by the Junkanoo Corporation of New Providence (JCNP) and the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture.
