NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 43-year-old male citizen of the United States was taken into custody on Saturday, after he failed to declare $51,440 in cash.
According to police reports, shortly after 4:00 p.m., the male presented himself to a US Border Control Officer at the Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) and failed to declare the true amount of currency in his possession.
The officers conducted a search of the man and recovered $51,440.00 in cash.
The male was taken into custody, handed over to the police, and is expected to be formally charged before the magistrate’s court this week.
