NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Two women were reportedly sexually assaulted in separate incidents in the capital on Monday according to police.
According to police, shortly after 3 pm on Tuesday a 30-year-old woman reported to police that shortly after 9 pm on Monday while driving west on Marshall Road, she slowed down near the Faith Avenue intersection where she was approached by two men on foot. One of the men reportedly produced a firearm and forced her out of her vehicle. The armed culprit, then took her to nearby bushes and sexually assaulted her, before escaping in an unknown direction.
Police also reported that around 3:15 pm on Tuesday, a 32-year-old woman reported that shortly after 9 pm on Monday while walking in the area of Fleming Street she accepted a ride from a man known to her. It is reported the suspect drove the female to a dirt road off Gladstone Road, where he allegedly produced a firearm and sexually assaulted her. Police say they are following significant leads into that incident.
