GRAND BAHAMA – Two males are in police custody after they were allegedly found in possession of dangerous drugs on Monday, July 1, 2019.
According to police reports, shortly after 9:00p.m., officers of the Rapid Response Unit, while on routine patrol in the area of East Sunrise Highway and Seahorse Road, attempted to pull over a grey Honda Accord as a result of a traffic infraction.
Police reported that the vehicle refused to stop and officers observed a container being thrown out of the vehicle. Upon retrieving the container, it was discovered to have 268 packages of suspected marijuana, weighing an estimated 1.16 pounds with a street value of more than $1,000.
The vehicle was pulled over and two males, both of Freeport, were arrested.
Officers also confiscated $625 in Bahamian and American currency as a result of criminal proceeds.
Investigations continue.
