Trump to nominate Herschel Walker for Bahamas Ambassador post

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has announced Herschel Walker as his nominee for United States Ambassador to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
According to a post from Trump, Walker, a former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner, has also built a reputation as a businessman, philanthropist, and advocate for youth sports.
He previously served as Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition during Trump’s administration. In 2022, he lost a bid to become a US Senator from Georgia after a string of allegations that he pressured ex-girlfriends into having abortions.
The United States Senate has not confirmed an ambassador to the Bahamas since November 2011.
