Exclusive charter airline expands flights to Great Harbour Cay, Berry Islands
NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Bahamians love to travel to South Florida in December. People are making plans to travel in order to shop, while others are gearing up for Art Basel in Miami Beach, which starts this week. With holiday plans underway, one airline is reminding the public that it offers a safe, hassle-free way to travel in a pandemic.
Tropic Ocean Airways operates semi-private, shared charters four times weekly out of Nassau (Odyssey Aviation) with service to Fort Lauderdale (Sheltair private terminal at Fort Lauderdale International).
We are so thankful to have had the support of the island since 2015, when we first launched scheduled flights, and look forward to working with the community to add additional lift.
– Tropic Ocean Airways CEO Rob Ceravolo
Travelers can skip the long lines for security, customs and immigration, take a flight that seats up to nine passengers, and arrive at their destination in just an hour and 10 minutes.
Base fares start at $350 per person each way.
For group trips or frequent flyers, Tropic Ocean has introduced the “Nassau Multi-pass”, which allows travelers to purchase bulk airline seats and save. Purchase 10 segments and get one free for travel to and from Nassau, with all taxes and fees included, at a cost of $3,565.
Since the inaugural Nassau/ Fort Lauderdale flight in August this year, Bahamians have been enjoying the easy, convenient, yet exclusive experience of flying with Tropic Ocean Airways. Their Cessna planes have an ARGUS Gold safety rating and are operated by a two-pilot standard. Each passenger has up to 50 pounds of luggage allowance, and flights are also dog-friendly.
Flights are every Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday.
Since launching the Nassau route, Tropic Ocean celebrated the launch of air travel to another Bahamian destination — Great Harbour Cay in the Berry Islands. Flights were operating on Thursdays and Sundays, and Tropic Ocean just added additional Sunday flights.
Great Harbour Cay has long been a beloved destination for second and third homeowners, many of whom also have residences in South Florida. These flights will offer turnkey solutions to travelers who are looking for swift and expedited boarding and arrival experiences.
Tropic Ocean Airways is no stranger to The Bahamas.
The company’s CEO Rob Ceravolo said: “We are so thankful to have had the support of the island since 2015, when we first launched scheduled flights, and look forward to working with the community to add additional lift.”
The airline also offers a seaplane service to Bimini.
