TOURISM DG: ‘The Bahamas is a safe destination’

play-sharp-fill

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Director General of Tourism Latia Duncombe is doubling down on assertions that The Bahamas remains a safe country and that the Tourism sector is not being negatively affected by instances of negative international headlines.

Her comments come off the heels of the disappearance of 41 year old American Taylor Casey, who went missing while staying at a yoga retreat in The Bahamas. Her assertion also follows a story which was widely publicized earlier this year involving two Kentucky women who claimed that they were raped while on vacation in Grand Bahama.

DG Duncombe asserted Thursday morning that ‘isolated incidents’ like those can happen in any country in the world and reassured travelers that The Bahamas is a safe place to visit.
