Three men were killed during a police-involved shooting this morning in the eastern part of New Providence.
Around 3:00 a.m., officers entered a home on New Gate Road, acting on information regarding one of the country’s most recent homicides.
According to police reports, the suspects approached them with handguns once they entered the home, which resulted in them being shot.
Police did confirm to Eyewitness News that the suspects used children as human shields during the crossfire.
Shortly after the gunfire had ceased, another suspect was taken into police custody. He was sitting in a vehicle nearby when police noticed his headlights were on. They stormed the vehicle and made an arrest.
Investigations are still ongoing.
