NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Thousands of Christians around the country paused to observe Ash Wednesday today which signifies the start of the Lenten season.

Rector of St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church Monsignor says the Christian Lenten season is a period of reflection and prayer.

The Lenten season commenced today, Ash Wednesday, and culminates on Easter Sunday.
