PARIS, FRANCE — The Bahamian flag on full display during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Olympian and reigning 400-meter gold medalist Steven Gardiner, along with two-time Olympian Devynne Charlton, served as Team Bahamas’ flag bearers.
The 20-member team consists of athletes from aquatics and athletics. Here’s a fun fact: For the first time in the history of the Olympic Summer Games, the Opening Ceremony did not take place in a stadium. Paris 2024 is breaking new ground by holding the festivities in the heart of the city along its main artery, the Seine River.
