Tax on gaming deposits delayed

The five per cent stamp tax on deposits for gaming customers has been delayed until September 1, according to Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Peter Turnquest.

The new tax regime was expected to take effect yesterday, however, Turnquest told Eyewitness News on Monday that the implementation of the new tax was pushed back to allow gaming operators time to have their systems certified.
