Taskforce headed to Inagua to investigate traffic accident

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Police and senior Immigration officials are headed to Great Inagua to investigate a vehicular accident that resulted in a woman receiving serious injuries.

According to a statement, the accident involved the Department of Immigration’s Jeep Wrangler and a silver five-door vehicle driven by the woman shortly after 1am yesterday.

The Immigration Officer was not seriously injured, it read.

The statement continued: “A silver five-door foreign vehicle driven by the civilian female received extensive damages, while the Department’s Jeep Wrangler received some damages.

“Local medical teams and officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force were reportedly on scene. Police and Senior Immigration Officials are enroute to Inagua to engage in further detailed investigations regarding this serious matter.”

The statement added: “The Department’s thoughts and prayers go out to the injured party and her family.”
