Immigration Minister Brent Symonette, who for months has touted sweeping changes – namely technological upgrades – said those improvements are on the way for his ministry.
Symonette confirmed that new computer systems are expected to be installed within the immigration department by September 10.
The government had spent some $16 million on the overhaul, he said, which also involves intense training for immigration personnel.
He said the advancements are ultimately expected to thrust the department into a new era of efficiency and accountability.
