NASSAU, BAHAMAS ā Sustainable Me, an organization committed to empowering youth and promoting sustainable development, is proud to announce two strategic partnerships aimed at expanding its impact and furthering its mission in The Bahamas.Ā
Sustainable Me has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) and US-registered non-profit Change The Tune to enhance its capacity to offer transformative programs for Bahamian youth. These partnerships mark significant milestones in Sustainable Me’s journey towards empowering the next generation of leaders and fostering positive change in local communities.Ā
Sustainable Me Director Ava Turnquest said: “Our collaboration with ORG and Change The Tune underscores our commitment to creating impactful programs that empower youth and address pressing sustainability challenges. Our first workshop, “Farm-A-Thon” was a resounding success, attracting 15 enthusiastic students eager to explore the intersection of digital technology and agriculture.”Ā
Sustainable Me has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG) for fiscal sponsorship and technical assistance. This partnership solidifies Sustainable Me’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial operations, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly towards empowering young minds and driving positive change within our communities.Ā
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Sustainable Me, which underscores our shared commitment to transparency and accountability in promoting sustainable solutions,” said Matt Aubry, Executive Director of the Organization for Responsible Governance (ORG).Ā
Aubry said, “This collaboration allows us to leverage our expertise in governance, citizen engagement, and not-for-profit management to support Sustainable Me’s mission of empowering youth and driving positive change within our communities.”Ā
Building on this momentum, Sustainable Me joined forces with Change The Tune to co-create and launch the Sustainable Studio summer program and free workshop series. Dr Charli Kemp, Director of Change The Tune, said: āWe are grateful for our new partnership to be able to collectively work together to reimagine whatās possible for Learners all over the Bahamas!
The Summer Studio program aims to equip Bahamian youth with the knowledge, skills, and inspiration to become environmental stewards and global leaders while maintaining Sustainable Me’s advocacy of the Sustainable Development Goals.Ā
Led by Geoff Pearce, founder of the Bahamas National Esports League, the March 2 workshop provided students with hands-on experiences and insights into the NASEF FarmcraftĀ® 2024 competition. As part of its Sustainable Studio pre-summer program, two upcoming workshops are offered: paper-making with Sonia Farmer at Poinciana Paper Press and an Earth Day workshop with Daniel Hanna, which offer students opportunities to engage in environmental stewardship activities.Ā
Sustainable Me Director Kya Nguyen said: “We were so motivated by the support and encouragement we received last year during our inaugural summer program. This year we aim to offer more opportunities for children and communities to dive deeper in their understanding of sustainable living practices. The reality is that itās the best way to secure a prosperous future for us as Bahamians. Not just for us but for our childrenās children as well.”Ā
Sustainable Me invites sponsors and supporters to join them in their mission to empower Bahamian youth and promote sustainable development. By investing in Sustainable Me’s programs, sponsors can make a meaningful impact and help keep summer camps free for students in The Bahamas.Ā
