Suspected marijuana seized from vessel at Potter’s Cay, male arrested

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police in capital seized a quantity of suspected marijuana on Thursday, May 30, 2019.

According to police reports, shortly before 8:00a.m. on Thursday, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by Canine Officers and acting on intelligence, went to Potter’s Cay Dock and conducted a search of a vessel that arrived from a family island.

While searching a shoe bag, officers recovered four packages of suspected marijuana.

An adult male was taken into custody and is expected to be formally charged in connection with this incident.

The suspected marijuana weighed 4.2 pounds with a street value of $4,200.

Investigations are ongoing.
