Super Value Golden Gates robbed

The Super Value food store in the Golden Gates shopping plaza on Baillou Hill and Carmichael Road was robbed on Saturday night.

According to police reports, the incident happened shortly after 8:00 p.m.

Police reported that two men armed with firearms entered the establishment and held an employee at bay. The men robbed the establishment of cash before making good their escape.

Police did not disclose the amount of money that was taken from the establishment.

Investigations are ongoing.

 

Police investigate other robberies

Police in the capital are also seeking the public’s assistance in solving a Saturday armed robbery which occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m.

According to police reports, a man was at Christie Park on Nassau Street when he was approached by a male armed with a knife who robbed him of cash, then stabbed him about the body before running away. The injured man was transported to hospital for medical attention.

Police on New Providence are also seeking the public’s assistance in solving three armed robberies which occurred on Friday.

In the first incident, shortly after 8:00 p.m., two men armed with firearms entered a convenience store on Market Street and Palm Tree Avenue, held an employee at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before running into the community and making good their escape.

In the second incident, shortly before 9:00 p.m., two women had just arrived at a residence on Sunglow Drive, Colony Village, when they were approached by two armed men who robbed one of the women of her handbag which contained cash and other items before running away.

In the third incident, shortly after 11:00 p.m., two armed men entered a restaurant on Palm Tree Avenue and Fourth Street, held employees at bay and robbed the establishment of cash before fleeing on foot into the community.
