Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Edison Sumner said Tuesday that he has high hopes for The Bahamas’ accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and full confidence in Zhivargo Laing’s appointment at chief negotiator for the country.
Sumner said the Chamber has been intricately involved since day one and told Eyewitness News that the move, which has been long in the making, will be monitored closely by his team.
His words come after Financial Services, Trade and immigration minister Brent Symonette announced that all submission to re-commence the WTO negotiations had been put in place last week.
