NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander revealed that following the recent murders last week, the homicide solvency rate has decreased. Just weeks ago, police authorities informed the media that the solvency rate for homicides was in the high seventies for the year. However, in light of the latest surge in violence, that percentage has now fallen.
Last week saw nine murders in less than a week, spanning from Tuesday, July 16, through Monday, July 22. Homicides were reported every day except Wednesday during that period.
