Small businesses a top focus for BTC during October

NASSAU, BAHAMAS — BTC started a tradition celebrating small businesses each October several years ago, and under the theme “work smarter, not harder”, the company is already at the halfway mark of this year’s activities.

Teneile Simmons, Executive Senior Manager for Small & Medium Businesses at BTC, expressed her excitement. “We’ve been hosting several smaller events all summer long, leading up to our big InKnowVation Conference later this month,” Simmons said.

“At InKnowVation, small business customers will learn how to make money moves from our keynote speakers, gain digital “know-how” from our expert workshops, and have the opportunity to pitch their business to win cash, free business connectivity and so much more.

“We are providing our small business customers with the tools to work smart and not hard, as we provide them with even more value. Customers will soon experience upgraded bundled plans providing even faster broadband speeds, and unlimited mobile plans,” Simmons further revealed.

All small business customers have access to BTC’s suite of smart solutions. These include a free customized website and online store, business email pro which provides ten email addresses using the client’s .com domain with built-in anti-spam filters, and e-marketing pro allowing the customer to attract more clients with custom-made digital marketing campaigns along with SEO and Google Business tools.

Small businesses, which account for more than 80% of the BTC business clientele, will have the opportunity to win over $15,000 in cash and prizes in the pitch challenge.

This year’s InKnowVation conference will be held on Friday, October 28 live at Baha Mar and via an interactive live stream for the entire Caribbean. The speakers include Donatello Antonio who will speak on “Captivating Content, Supercharged Sales”, and Mimi Brown-Davis who will share on “Showcasing your business at its best with Canva”.

Just last month, BTC held its small business master class in September. The event provided useful tips on how businesses could access funding opportunities, maximize media opportunities and market their business.

The master class featured a number of local and international business experts including brand architect Kenny St. Mark, media coach Ianthia Ferguson, content creator Kevin McKinney from Bahamas Development Bank, and Heather Bowles from Bahaprintz. Keron Rose, Flow & BTC social media ambassador, and Lisa Etsy, smart solutions expert also took part in the master class.

Small business customers wishing to attend the InkKnowVation Master Class and or participate as vendors should contact the BTC Small Business team at 47-SMALL/477-6255 or through btcbahamas.com
