Murder count at 15; Pinewood Gardens riddled with gun fire

Two men are dead and another man is fighting for his life in hospital after a drive by shooting late Friday night.

The murder took place shortly after 8pm in Pinewood Gardens and took the country’s murder count to 15 for the year.

Police say a group of persons were at a residence on Saffron Street when two men drove up to the residence on scooter.

The suspects opened fire on the group of men, hitting three of them, before fleeing the area on foot. One man died on the scene.

EMS personnel where called to the scene and took the other two victims to the hospital in serious condition, where one of them died a short time later.

Nearly 24 hours later, police were called to Pinewood for another shooting incident that left three persons in hospital.

According to reports, a group of persons were attending a repast on Buttonwood Avenue when the occupants of a silver Nissan March pulled up and fired shots in the direction of the crowd before speeding off in an unknown direction.

Three persons were shot and were taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.
