A man is dead following a shooting Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Investigators said the killing, which put the country’s murder count at 30, took place shortly after 11:00 a.m.
It is also the third homicide in the capital in less than 48 hours.
According to reports, the victim was standing in front of a building through Acklins Street in Englerston, when a silver vehicle pulled up.
Police said a man, armed with a handgun, exited the vehicle and fired several shots at the victim before jumping back in the vehicle and speeding off.
The victim, police said, was taken to hospital in a private vehicle where he died a short time later.
Just one day earlier, a man was shot and killed off Moore Avenue near Wulff Road.
Some 12 hours prior and two streets over another man was shot while on Homestead Street, police said.
He later died in hospital.
Police said they are uncertain if the murders are connected.
