Just before 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, the island of New Providence experienced an island-wide blackout according to officials from Bahamas Power and Light (BPL).
The company issued a statement indicating that the inclement weather in the west had impacted transmission lines. Most of this island remained in darkness until shortly after 11:00 p.m. Monday evening.
