The lifeless body of a security officer was found at the scene of a shop breaking incident early today. Police reports say the unidentified victim had visible injuries about the body leading police officials to believe foul play is involved. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to reports, officers were called to investigate a shop breaking and stealing complaint at a seafood processing centre on Fire Trail Road, west shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Thursday.
While searching the compound, they discovered an unconscious male; believed to be the security guard. Paramedics were called to the scene, but were unable to resuscitate him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death. A quantity of seafood was stolen from the property. Investigations are ongoing.
