Men found dead in running vehicle, one with ankle bracelet
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The wounded bodies of two males were discovered in a vehicle in Jubilee Gardens on Tuesday night.
These latest homicides came less than 72 hours after the double murder that occurred on Monday at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center, and moved the country’s murder count to 86.
According to police reports, sometime around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, officers received reports of gunshots in the Jubilee Gardens and Fire Trail Road area.
Upon arrival at the scene, police said two males were discovered in a vehicle that was still running with trauma [wounds] about their bodies.
Emergency Medical Services attempted to revive the males, but they were unsuccessful.
The two men were later pronounced dead at the scene.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Clayton Fernander told Eyewitness News at yesterday’s scene that the young men are believed to have been in their 20s or 30s.
He said one of the victims was previously arrested for a serious crime and was being monitored by police through an ankle bracelet.
In a later update, Superintendent of Police, Shanta Knowles said police could not state if yesterday ’s homicide was connected to the double homicide that occurred Monday at the Sandilands Rehabilitation Center.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance to solve these recent homicides.
