NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island is on track for a soft opening on December 27, according to Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
Bayley made the comments on Tuesday as the cruise line officially opened its corporate office in Nassau.
“We’ve got the Royal Beach Club that will be opening in partnership with the Bahamian people and that will open, hopefully, sometime towards the end of December. We think that’s going to be a huge hit.”
Describing public reaction to the project, he added: “It has been fantastic. People are very excited. We’ve shared a lot of the images, obviously the conceptual images, because it’s still under construction and people are just excited. They love Royal Caribbean’s product. They love coming to the Bahamas. When you combine the two together and you create an exceptional experience, it’s going to create a lot of excitement.”
On bookings, Bayley said: “Bookings are fantastic. We’re really delighted with the bookings. We have the Ultimate Family Cabana, which, believe it or not, it’s going to sound crazy, but it’s sold per day for $10,000. Think about that. That is just the most amazing experience. It’s a curated, custom-built, phenomenal experience. And people are excited to go spend the time there with their family in such a beautiful setting.”
Bayley said the project is on schedule top open on time. Our official soft opening date is December the 27th. I was just updated this morning that it’s going very well, so it may open even a little few days earlier and I would love the Royal Beach Club to be open in time for Christmas.”
Philip Simon, president of Royal Caribbean’s Royal Beach Club speaking at the opening of the corporate office said: “This is the very first office established by any cruise line in our capital city. It is a continuation of the journey we began back in 2023 when we opened our recruitment office. Today this office stands as a beacon of stability and a testament to our long-term commitment to the Bahamas. This opening shows we are not just here to drop anchor and admire the view. Our company is deeply committed to Bahamian employment, economic growth within the tourism industry, fostering robust partnerships within the community, and preserving the natural beauty of the islands.”
On the Beach Club, Simon said: “Now, our newest venture, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, opening December 2025, furthers this partnership. This project involves Bahamians as true partners and drivers of this world-class destination. Currently, we proudly employ 27 Bahamian professionals in high-level corporate positions, from directors to managers, with strong trajectories. When the Beach Club is complete, we will have in excess of 500 team members, both directly and through our third-party partnerships. These aren’t just jobs. This is representative of the Bahamian workforce, powering a Bahamian future for decades to come.”
Acting Prime Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin praised the cruise line’s longstanding partnership with the Bahamas: “From that first arrival 55 years ago to the opening of this office at Elizabeth-on-Bay today, that will serve as its national headquarters, Royal Caribbean has been more than an economic contributor to the Bahamas. It has been a partner in every sense of the word and a friend.”
Hanna-Martin continued: “We celebrate the opening of Royal Caribbean’s first international land-based headquarters. More than 3,500 square feet of office space. And adjacent to other properties they will manage as they prepare to open their most significant attraction yet in the New Providence area. The Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island. A project that is being built by Bahamians and when it opens in December will provide jobs for some 500 Bahamians.”
